Call your insurance company.
First things first. If you know your roof or siding is damaged, it’s important to call your insurance agent right away. Your insurance company will arrange for an adjuster to inspect the damage and give you an estimate on the cost of the repair or replacement. Depending on the severity of the damage, the adjuster might need to see the damage with their own eyes to provide an estimate.
Document the damage.
Documenting the damage of your home can be extremely important, especially if you have to make small repairs yourself before the major repair. A picture is worth a thousand words and can help prove the damage your home has sustained. Be sure to write a detailed list of any damage as well.
